The Ho Chi Minh division of the world renowned OCC wrapped up its 2023 with a visit to Bui Vien St, a vibrant and bustling area located in the heart of city famous for its lively atmosphere, especially at night, with bars and restaurants aplenty. On this occasion members gathered to lay down their review on Namaste India, which boasts an impressive 1.4k Facebook likes as well as average rating of 4.3/5 based on 70+ reviews.

Despite being in a festive spirt and welcoming not one, but two new trialists for the occasion, there was no leniency on scoring with this the last month to challenge current highest scorer Mustard for CHOTY. 

"Namaste's menu is a symphony of traditional northern and southern Indian dishes."

One standout was the tandoori platter, featuring succulent kebabs and tender meats infused with a medley of spices, perfectly charred to perfection. Curry's on the whole were also enjoyable with a decent sized portion and just about the right level of spice 🥵 

Namaste's value score of 9 is the second highest of the 2023 season, however average score has been let down (again!) by the low service and customer care ratings. As always we will inform the restaurant of our clubs presence when making the booking and hope the establishment will do its upmost to ensure members have the most comfortable and private setting to critically assess their experience. Unfortunately some members felt this had not been properly considered. 

Namaste narrowly misses this time by only 0.12 points! We welcome a re-score as part of our future CHOTY seasons to hopefully add it to our approved list of curry houses in HCM at a later date.

In the meantime it seems good for a decent, good value and rowdy curry if you are near Bui Vien, but nicer venues out there in our opinion.
