After parting ways for the festive break, Friday 6th January saw the return of the OCC Saigon and their review of Biriyani House, an Indian restaurant and takeaway offering "mouth-watering dishes which are prepared with care and fresh ingredients" according to their website.

With word starting to make its way around Vietnam that a new very selective club of curry enthusiasts, the OCC, has finally set up a new division in HCMC after head office approval, we were delighted to be joined by trialist Will who ordered a delightful mix of starters, tikkas, curries and biriyanis for the members to tuck into and form their opinion on the quality. 

Despite some good dishes and a dramatic flourish to the biriyani service (video) unfortunately on this occasion Biriyani House has not been approved by the OCC Saigon due to a modest quality and service rating compared to other establishments that have previously been reviewed. Members had high expectations on this restaurant owing to word of mouth and previous experiences as a takeaway customer. It was clearly a popular restaurant, with many families there and most tables full, however the dine-in service and food quality was not a match for the OCC members or other Saigon curry houses on this day.
