According to Trip Advisor Shanti Indian Cuisine "boasts a kitchen of Indian only chefs catering for locals and foreigners alike". With a mixed bag of online reviews, Ho Hi OCC members were hopeful of an experience and menu that rival that of the top curry houses in the land? Could Shanti be in the running for Curry House of the Year as we approach the final stages of the 2023 season?

TLDR: there's a lot better places to go in Ho Chi Minh City.

For our more observant followers, you would have already seen that Shanti's overall score was a disappointing 4.4 and therefore the restaurant has not been approved on this occasion. Despite reasonable prices and being busy with guests in a bustling location on the outskirts of the infamous Bui Vien street, the quality of the food was not up to the high standards expected with a low customer care rating also received owing to a number of dishes being missed by the waiter and therefore arriving late.

TIP: HOCC will always inform the restaurant of their upcoming visit when making a reservation. If (like Shanti) your restaurant has a private dining space or 'VIP' area, we strongly encourage seating us in such area to allow for a comfortable reviewing experience and to ensure a high customer care rating ;) 

Unfortunately Shanti is not approved on this occasion however we welcome an invite to revisit in 2024 noting the positive 5* experiences by other reviewers, and the fact the restaurant was extremely busy (a good sign? the reason our experience suffered?).
