Review: Tandoor (D1)
Status: Approved!
Average score: 7.1
A few weeks ago the the OCC Saigon judging panel convened in D1 to lay down their review of Tandoor. Whilst the roots of this cooking utensil can be traced back over 5000 years, the same-named HCM establishment has been serving authentic Indian food since 1997 boasting many five star reviews online.
So what did we find?
"A packed restaurant humming with customers"
"Curries were tasty, breads good, lively atmosphere (though a bit touristy)"
Popular with both residents and tourists, the atmosphere was buzzing on this Friday evening with the decor and ambience as good as any other in this years Curry House Of The Year (CHOTY) season . Whilst some of the main dishes may have been a bit bland for some, on the whole the food was of a decent standard, with OCC members particularly enjoying the spicier dishes on the menu 🥵 breads were delicious too. Waiters also made sure OCC members thirst was quenched at all times 🍺
We are pleased to advise that the scores have been tallied and verified, with the result that we may announce that Tandoor has been approved by the OCC!
Stay tuned for next months review and do get in touch if you want to find out more about this private and very prestigious members club for those serious about curry only ;)
✅
Great atmosphere and prime location
Delicious spicy dishes 🌶️
Good breads
⚠️
Bland tikka masala
Slow service at times
On the pricier side (but to be expected)
Apologies for the dreadful photos. You can see we were too busy enjoying the ambience and testing the food, not lining up good social media content.
